Don and Judith James’s 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS features a Muncie transmission married to a 454 cammed engine and headers to round out the package. This power to spare set of wheels proudly leads the pack on our numerous cruise outing, and … only a fool would challenge it for road space. Don found this car in North Carolina in 2000 while on vacation, and it was the beginning of a long-term love affair. The TLC applied to their Chevelle SS is obvious and its stunning wax job always draws a crowed when on the road, or in static display mode. Nothing, no nothing, beats the rumble of a 454 as it jumps from first to Second … and is gone!

This 1965 Sunbeam Tiger is the ultimate in a car owners dreams as it is unique, rare … and fast. Fast is an understatement as the Tiger’s awesome 400 horsepower engine really moves this exotic machine. We’re talking about a nimble sports car to begin with married to an engine with power to equal a Ferrari. Nothing, no nothing, can beat the sound of this Tiger coming by you with the exhaust crackling during a down shift. Go ahead and try catching Bob … in your dreams that is. Bob has been the proud owner of this truly fine machine for the past 32 years. Mild mannered by nature, Bob can sure turn on a smile coupled with twinkling eyes when asked about his Tiger’s performance. I think you would be hard pressed to find a car in not only our beloved club, but also in our affiliate Panhandle clubs, that has “brought home the bacon” in prizes as this car. This beautiful 57 Chevy has undergone a re-birth in 2008. Now under the hood lurks a totally hot rodded 350 coupled to a 700R4 transmission. The exhaust system is all custom with flowmasters providing the awesome sounds. Inside remains cool on warm days with the air conditioning turned on. The 57 now rolls on 17 inch American Racing Torque Thrusts. Larry and Judy Swing are both charter members of the Rod Benders and it would not be a meeting without them present. Larry is a true master of engineering when it comes to metal and cars. The charming and lovely Judy was our utilities clerk at city hall until she retired. Her presence at city hall made it a pleasure to visit the office just to be greeted by her.

'48 Street Rod This awesome car is well known in the local car club world. It has been "plushed" with custom leather interior, electric windows, push button trunk release and some fancy paint work.

This restored "71 Chevy Pickup is owned by Dave and Nita Hilliard. It is powered by a small block 350 with Hedman headers turning a turbo 400 transmission. Dave keeps it clean and polished and this is an award winning truck at the 2006 Injector's car show in Ponderay. Congratulations Dave!

'58 Nomad wagon Classified as a "work in progress" so don't even think about getting on Nita's case about her hunk of iron ... she is sort of touchy about this particular car.

This beautiful 1951 Pontiac Chieftain 2 door hardtop is the result of Paul and Alice's 5 year restoration project. The car was purchased as a "basket case" and has undergone a frame up restoration. Engine and running gear are original.

This '73 Mustang is a fun toy for Paul and Alice and usually turns all kinds of heads

1966 Mustang Ken's favorite car for carrying our Badger high school homecoming royalty in parades. Fluffed out with a four-speed 289, making it a fun and powerful machine to drive.

One of the other beauties that Ken lays claim too.

This is one classy ride and Denise says that she enjoys driving it on cruises and to shows. After searching for many models of Studebaker - this one just seemed to call out to her. She found this car on Craigslist in Redmond Oregan. Tim (Denise's honey) took a 24 hour bus trip to Redmond, checked it out and then drove it back to Bonners Ferry. That trip is a story all it's own.

This Olds has come a long way. The restoration started last year with the paint job and replacing the interior. With the passing of Ron Eisenhour, the club came together to help Diane and her family get this Cutlass back on the road.

Gene and Pat Andrews restored to "better than factory" 1954 Chevy Pick Up Originally a fire department vehicle; It has been in the Andrews family since 1960 and restored in 1986 by Gene and Ray. The paint on this truck is fabulous and this picture does not begin to show the quality. At the next car show, be sure to view this truck up close and personal.

 

This 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 hard top is their favorite cruiser.The story starts out..........."It was owned by a little-ole-lady from Libby Montana" and two owners later now has new parts and paint that shines and only 85000 original miles.

This jeep was rumored to have been in the Normandy invasion. It was imported from France to the US in 1953. It has been overhauled and restored in 1981 and is seen often, with Gene at the helm, on the streets in Bonners Ferry

Les's fun car gets heavy mileage covering shows throughout the Pacific Northwest. He loves it when people flag him down!

This is a 1967 Sunbeam Tiger MK1A. Don found it in Orlando FL in 1981 in what he describes as "poor" condition. He began a complete ground-up restoration in 1990 and includes completely new interior. The paint is Guardsman Blue with Le Mans stripes. Engine is a modified 260 small block and the trans is a 4 speed top loader.

This truly awesome restoration job on Ron's Chevy brings back memories for Ron, as he drove a '59 Chevy in high school. this is a new car to the club, and we're confident it will be bringing in some prizes at the local shows.
