New engine and transmission for Larry's 57 Chevy
Here is the crew of Don, Jerry, Mark, Bob and Larry at work installing the John Barret Hot Rod 350 V8
engine and upgraded 700R4 transmission in Larry and Judy Swing's beautiful, customized 57 Chevy.
It seemed like there was always one more unexpected problem to solve......
New plumbing for the tranny cooler, added wiring for the new alternator and and electric fan.
Cut the floorboard for the shifter and hours of linkage adjustment. Then it was time to fire it up .......
What is that noise!!!! Sounds like BBs in the intake. Call Barret, He says "no idea" run it till it gets better or worse, it's under warranty.
So we ran it and it got better till it was all gone. None of us had ever heard a sound like that before and hope not to again.
The engine is in and the hood and fenders are back on.........it's ready to rumble with the Flowmaster Delta 40s singing their song!
This is one sweet ride and now it really jumps when you hit the throttle. Larry's smile is bigger than ever!
