Cranbrook, You Rock !

Here is most of the  group at Rick's fabulous spread.  The Rod Benders were treated like VIPs and were hosted by the combined Cranbrook car clubs, Rockin' in the Rockies and The Cranbrook Vintage car club.  We filled the day with good company to spend time with and a bazillion quality cars to view.  When we arrived we were fed a late morning "snack" at Mike & Judy's with muffins, fruit, coffee, smoked salmon and a choice of juices.  We were sent on our way home with a big time BBQ at Ken & Doni's with burgers, salads, coffee and an array of deserts.  In between we visited Iver & Kathy's place, Don's car goldmine, Rick & Lin's house and Bob and Elaine's Chevy-World with more impressive cars and project cars. Some of our club members'  quotes and the array of pictures below only barely touch the magnitude of the good feelings that we enjoyed this day.

First: "To all our wonderful friends to the north -- We are in awe of all of the talent we have encountered and the many fine cars plus the scenic drives and beautiful homes. It was more than we expected.  Thank you for such a great day."

Second:  "Impressed with your hospitality!"

Third: "One of our best times since becoming car club members."

Fourth: "The members of the Cranbrook Car Club overwhelmed us with hospitality and the very best show of cars and workshops that anyone could imagine!  It was a trip to remember and we began to develop friendships with some great people."
Fifth: "We had a BLAST. Thanks to our friends to the north."

Sixth:  "The most hospitable group I have ever met."

Seventh: "Enjoyed the over-the-top hospitality.  Our Club members that could not attend missed a very special day.

The start of a beautiful day - Coffee, cars and conversation - Then to Iver & Kathy's

Iver shows us some of his shop projects and the machines for making pillars.  We are stunned at how creative this man is.

Approaching Bob & Elaine's ;     Parked on circular drive around their home

Don's numerous cars include a beautiful

Essex (not shown) a supercharged Grahm

and others; a most gracious host.

This 4 car garage houses 3, 1960 convertible Impalas and a '60 El Camino. Outside is a row of  '60 Chevys for Bob's future projects

Peacock is used as the paint color standard;  Some people see sheep, some see seat covers

We visited neighbor, Dave Steward's shop to see the 57 Chevy station wagon

restoration. In Dave's trophy case are a couple of trophies from Rod Benders Car shows.

Now time to leave, but we take the memories of this great day with us.  Friends are really all that it is about - Thanks!
